American School Hunting Scene, large and lovely – $595
Offered at Emporium Antiques by Robert Quilter, Booth BQ

Beautiful landscape scene of Long Island depicting a scenic view of the New York City Farm Colony – Sean View Hospital District. It is signed in the lower right with what appears to be the initials “MT”. This vintage oil on canvas is very much in keeping of the style and craftsmanship of the paintings that Thomas Moran (American, b. England, 1837-1926) and William Sidney Mounts (American, B. New York 1807-1868) painted of Long Island.
The canvas stretcher is marked Glendale, L.I. which is a neighborhood located in the borough of Queens in the West Central portion of Long Island. All these factors lead us to the conclusion that this is an amazing piece of Folk Art as well as history. #27664 – $845.
